Olympic Torch Relay comes to town.

Grumpa called us this morning at 8am to remind us that the torch was coming through town , so Logan and I decided to go support Canada with Grumpa. Luckily Grumpa made it to our house by 8:45am and then we drove into town to catch a glimpse of the relay. The main street was lined with people wearing red and white, carrying flags and making noise from the choirs and bands from the schools nearby. It was quite an event.

Here we are carrying the torches that Logan helped make at school.

Future Olympic Athlete? or perhaps torch bearer?

So happy to hold his torch and hang out with his class mates just behind me and the camera.

Checking it out.

Watching as the real torch passes in front of us.

The passing of the flame!! The cheers were loud.

***If you click on any of these pictures, it will get larger so that you can see the picture in more detail. Once you're finished looking at the enlarged picture just click on the 'back' button and it will take you back to the blog. It's nice to see some of these when they're a bit bigger.

There it goes.

Check out the flame!! We could feel the heat radiate off of it........no not really ; )

Finally it arrives!

Watching the torch come down the street.

Waiting patiently in the snow bank.

It was a brisk -12 degrees this morning.

We made it on time!

A visit with the Boyd cousins.

We went up to Risa and Brett's house in Jackson's Point last weekend. We got to hang out with the dogs and got to visit with Kyle, Penny, Hudson and Rayna. Hudson and Logan are just about the same height and into everything...including the dog food(Logan!)

Enjoying their dinner.

Trying to figure out the buttons and lights on the humidifier.

"Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree..."

Here is ours for 2009. We went out on Sun to find it in the bush not too far from the house. The tree farm where we went was fun, but boy was it brisk. Although there is no snow on the ground yet, I'm sure it'll be here very soon. Hopefully in time to cover up the grass for Christmas morning. There is something to be said for REAL Christmas trees. The photos really do it no justice, but I must say-it is beautiful. Logan calls it "pretty tree". We put the decorations on it last night and this morning Logan was sooo very disapointed that there were no more ornaments to be hung. Let's just say he had a moment.

Logan seemed to really like this spot on the tree. The poor branch is doing overtime with trying to keep these three balls from falling off.

He really liked these one of a kind pick up truck, glass ornaments that we bought in Niagara on the Lake a few years back.

and my "antique" rocking horse ornament. My mom made this and several other dough ornaments in '84 I believe. I can remember helping with them. They're getting a bit soft and I'm not sure that they'll make it another year.

Here we are. The tree looks like a tooth pick all wrapped up like that.

We found it mom. Isn't it just perfect!!!

Up against all of the other trees it appeared a bit fuller than once we cut it and held it up on it's own. It looks just fine though with the decorations and lights. Magical actually.

There was a giant fire pit going which was very smoky, and some Christmas music playing. They had hot dogs, hot chocolate and marshmallows to roast if you liked. We passed on it this year as it was almost time for Logan's nap-next year.

We did enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride though, through the property.

Hmmm where is it???

Waiting patiently for the wagon to start moving.

Santa Clause is coming to Town.....

We went to the parade today with the Hartill's. It was great to be outside, but boy did it get COLD, really cold fast! Next year we will bring some blankets, and hot Chocolate!

The good man himself.

Logan loved all of the dogs out today.

These two are actually patients from one of my offices. They own the No Frills in town, hence the banana.

Cool old trailer, I think it's called a teardrop.

Chris LOVEd the Hillbilly cars.

Keira checking things out.

It's starting....

The candy trolley.

Logan and Keira bundled for the weather.
